A moody and richly-textured aerial, this print captures the ephemeral shoreline of a partially-filled Yarra Yarra lake.
Photographed from 2,500ft, the still, opaque water takes on a deep, khaki-brown hue. Its calm surface is broken by wispy, white salt formations that float like delicate feathers. The shore itself is not sand, but a 'beach' of crystallized minerals, where pink and white salt crusts have formed like seafoam against the land. This is all framed by the dark, stippled texture of the outback scrub.
An evocative study of the ephemeral nature of these inland seas, this print is a piece of raw, earthy, and moody beauty.
